Patchouli is a fragrant herb with soft oval leaves and square stems. It grows from 2 to 3 feet in height and provides an unusual odor that is nonetheless characteristic of patchouli when the leaves are rubbed.

Patchouli is known for its smoky, musky, earthy citrus scent. Our “light” variety is distilled in stainless steel vats as opposed to cast iron vats [for darker-colored Patchouli] to create a lighter-colored Patchouli while also drawing out the leaf’s camphorous notes.

Patchouli is considered to be a base note with an elevated deep rich aromatic notes with hints of sweet smokiness. Blends well with: clary sage, cedarwood, other woody oils, and lavender.
